Cyprus Sunshine Cup in 2009 offers four rounds between the 22nd of February and the 15th of March. Well known races at Tochni, Voroklini and Afxentia stage race are in the pool as well as an attractive new one at Amathous.
The Cyprus Sunshine Cup ’09 kicks off again with a point to point race between Tochni and Kalavasos.
The Afxentia stage race offers again three stages with a time trial, a point to point and a cross country race. In 2009 the competition follows the new UCI rule, which puts stage races again into the cross country rankings. So Afxentia will be held as a UCI stage race.
This is followed by a new course in Amathous which looks like becoming a very attractive one. An interesting course with lots of singletrack, demanding parts and scenic views will challenge the riders.
The final race, as the years before, will be held on the well known course of Voroklini.
“I think we can offer again a very good package and I’m glad to present a new location. I reckon with a lot of pro riders using the races as an important part of their preparation for the worldcup season”, organizer Michalis Hadijoannou explains.
