X Cyprus-Russian Festival
Cyprus-Russian Festival, organized by the newspaper “Vestnik Kipra” and supported by the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Municipality of Limassol and the Cyprus-Russia friendship association, will take place on 6-7 June, 2015.
During the opening ceremony of the Festival we expect the presence of many VIP guests, among whom there will be the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Cyprus Mr. Stanislav Osadchiy, ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic missions of different countries, members of Parliament, Mayor of Limassol Mr. Andreas Christou and mayors of other municipalities and regional councils, other special guests.
Last year the IX Cyprus-Russian Festival beat all the records with one thousand performers and approximately 12 thousand of people who visited the Festival. The festival became not only one of the five biggest events of Cyprus, but also one of the most spectacular and significant Russian festivals on the whole territory of EU.
The Festival has 2 days impressive concert program. More than thousand singers and dancers from both countries will perform on two stages of the Festival. Popular Greek singers Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Nicos Gkanos will have a concert on Saturday. The festival will end on Sunday with a concert of a popular Russian group FABRIKA.
More than 100 companies will present their products on the traditional Festival Fair – icons, toys, decorations, organic products, cosmetics, sweets, fruit, ice-cream and many others.
The Festival will host several contests and competitions. The most beautiful will be the “High Heels Race”. Women wearing high heel shoes run 50 meters distance in order to win amazing prizes - Mediterranean cruises! Another competition which already became traditional for the Festival is “My Matryoshka”. Everybody can show their talent in decorating this Russian traditional doll. There is no limit for your ideas! Matryoshka was even presented as a robot, cat, mermaid and super hero.
The Cyprus-Russian Festival can offer different sport events. For example the open chess game with Vassilis Aristotelous, a champion of Cyprus 2008 and a member of the Chess Federation of Cyprus.

15:00-23:00 Entertainment for children and adults: roundabouts, trampolines, Luna-park, motocross and etc.
15:00 – 23:00 A bouncy robot and more children activities throughout the Festival, hosted by Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation” (on the left of the main entrance).
15:00-23:00 Exhibition of Russian and Cypriot artists.
15:00-23:00 Photo exhibitions: “Anniversary of Cyprus-Russian Festival” and “70 years of Victory in the Second World War”.
15:00-16:00 Acrobatic show by Maestro Angelos (the main stage).
15:00-20:00 “My Matrioshka” Contest (in the central part of the park).
16:00 - 18:00 Concert by Cypriot and Russian children's groups (main stage).
16:00 - 20:00 Workshops for children hosted by Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation in collaboration with Frederick University: “Make a Pythagorean cup using recyclable materials” & “Programme a robot”
16:00 - 21:30 Concert by Cypriot and Russian children’s groups (small stage, near the main entrance to the park).
18:00 - 18:30 Cypriot folk dance by “Konta Stin Paradosi” (round stage).
18:00 - 19:00 Break in the concert program on the main stage (request to all the guests to leave the hall for the security guards!).
18:30 - 19:00 Brass band of Cypriot police (main stage in front of the side entrance to the municipal park from Byron str.).
19:00 - 19:30 Official opening ceremony of the Festival, greetings by the official guests (main stage).
19:30 - 21:30 Gala Concert (main stage).
20:30 Show and workshop of Brazilian social dances (Zouk and Kizomba) (round stage).
21:30 Live broadcast of the Champions’ League final. “Barcelona” – “Juventus” (next to the coffee shop).
21:30 Show program with participation of the Greek stars Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Nikos Ganos (main stage).
22:50 Fireworks.
Day Two: Sunday, June 7
