12th International Symposium on Ancient Greek Drama
Twelfth International Symposium on Ancient Greek Drama - Wisdom from suffering? Pain, frenzy and their treatment in Ancient Greek Drama.
The Symposium deals with two dominant thematic elements of ancient Greek drama, pain and frenzy, and marks out their role in the shaping of characters and style as well as in the development of action. The speakers, who are academics and theatre practitioners, approach the subject both from the textual point of view as well as from the point of view of stage representation. The aim of this approach is to facilitate a better reception of the messages of ancient drama by contemporary audiences
