Paddle your way… to the unique Ιsthmus of Corinth!
Be part of the 1st Cyprus Sup Cup 2014 on July 6 at The Spot and compete for a place in the final race in Greece, the crossing of the unique Isthmus of Corinth!
After the success of the 1st SUP Race 2013, KiteMed is organizing the 1st CYPRUS SUP CUP 2014. The first race of the CUP will take place on Sunday July 6th, at “The Spot”, Kiti Beach, Larnaca. The race is for amateurs and professional athletes, irrespective of gender, age and equipment and aspires to become the starting point for the stand up and paddle (SUP) sport in Cyprus.
The 2nd race of the CUP will take place on September 7th in Limassol at Windsurfers on Tour Station (Limassol sailing center).
The 3rd and final race of the CUP will take place on Sunday October 5th, at “The Spot”, Kiti Beach Larnaca.
Participants will compete in three categories: men, women and children. The winner of each category shall have the unique opportunity to travel free with Aegean Airlines and take part, in the final race of the 4th Hellenic SUP CUP 2014, the crossing of the unique Isthmus of Corinth, on October 19th 2014.

A few words on SUP – Stand Up Paddle Surfing
The roots of SUP or Stand Up Paddle Surfing are found thousands of years ago. Ancient tribes in Africa and South America used the canoe or other vessels, standing or kneeling in order to travel or find food. The modern version however was born in Polynesia and developed in Hawaii. Today, SUP is one of the fastest growing sports worldwide with many fanatic followers including many renowned athletes, Hollywood stars and other famous people among them. SUP is also referred to as the “social sport”, since many people can paddle on their paddleboards in groups, talking and exercising simultaneously whilst waiting to catch the next wave.
