2nd Early Music Festival

"The Friends of ARTE" society proudly present the 2nd Early Music Festival in Nicosia. It is a celebration of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Music using authentic instruments and performance practices with artists from Cyprus and abroad.

The Festival includes Concerts, Lectures, Workshops, Seminars and Screenings.

Friday 7/12 - Opening night - MNEME - Ex Silentio in concert. Medieval music from the Mediterranean
Saturday 8/12 - SANCTA MATER - A concert of sacred and secular music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. With Menelaos-Dimitris Kountouras (Medieval flute), Elektra Miliadou (viella) and Atzakas Thimios (ud) together with Elli Aloneftou, Christia Michael and İmge Ertalu (voice)
Sunday 9/12 - UNWRITTEN - Baroque harp recital with Flora Papadopoulos
Monday 10/12 - MODAL MUSIC OF THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN. A concert of classical Ottoman music and other music from eastern Mediterranean with Giannis Koutis and his musicians. (AT CASTELLIOTISSA HALL)
Wednesday 12/12 - THE MUG OF BROWN ALE. Music from the British isles and French baroque with Menelaos-Dimitris Kountouras (Baroque flute) and Flora Papadopoulos (Baroque harp).
