2nd Xarkis Festival
The 2nd Xarkis Festival will take place between the 15-17th of August 2014, in Arsos village, (Lemesos district).
Xarkis as a non-profit organization, attempts to foster a match-making process by bridging diverse actors into common projects and initiatives.
It looks for emerging opportunities, which means that your participation at Xarkis Festival can attain different roles and meanings.
Active and collaborative engagement in an environment that oozes calmand inspiration.
This year will be operating subjects such as bridging disciplines and alternative learning processes. The concept of bridging disciplineswas approached at Xarkis’ first festival in 2013. There, workshops aimed to push the boundaries of traditional production processesthrough the collaboration and co-production of members of the local community, alongside contemporary designers.
Alternative learning processes can be understood as those in which the learning facilitated is not institutional. You can refer to these processes as being the product of an open-ended form of education, whereby there is not one singular outcome, as new problems, opportunitiesand new solutions can present themselves in the sphere of social conversations.
In this open-ended process new actors can always enter, bearing innovative prototype ideas, to add to the network and heritage of Xarkis project.
