3rd Laughter Festival

YEU Cyprus (Youth for Exchange and Understanding) returns and is determined to make you laugh! It organizes the 3rd Laughter Festival which will take place on the 27th and 28th of February 2016 at the NGO Support Center (Ezekia Papaioannou 27, Nicosia).

If you feel the need to relax, feel carefree and laugh, escaping for a while from the everyday routine, the only thing you have to do is to come to the laughter festival and participate in a series of activities around what else? Laughter!

Like laughter, all of our workshops are for free.

27th of February - Saturday

10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
“The lab of joy” with Eleni Michael
The lab of joy is simply set to produce joy! During the workshop we will define the conditions, explore the ingredients and perform joy! Join us!

3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
“Animating the human (or inhuman!) face” workshop with Constantinos Syrimis
This workshop will be about drawing and animating a face frame by frame. Your drawing can be anything: cartoony, realistic, anthropomorphic, alien, etc. The goal will be to make it transition from one expression to another; for example a happy face can turn into an angry one.

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
“Light drawing” Workshop
Light drawing is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light - photos produced will take part in the Light drawing competition.

28th of February – Sunday

10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
“Funny writing” Workshop with Mohammed Awwad
This workshop is a proof that anyone can be a creative poet, playwright, storyteller or a comedian with a little bit of humour.

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sketch & Caricature Workshop with Thanasis Papaspyropoulos
Render with humor, imagination and comicality persons, things and realities.

5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
«Laughter Yoga” Workshop with Elina Papa – JOY Project
Laughter Yoga is a unique form of exercise from India that promotes the use of laughter as a form of physical exercise.

7:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Results of the winner of the “Light drawing photography” competition

8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Documentary Screening “Happy movie”
The film examines the human characteristic of Happiness, what it really is, how one achieves it, and how it relates to our lives in total.
