7th Lemesos International Documentary Festival
"Lemesos International Documentary Festival", this year in its seventh edition, will take place from the 1st to the 8th August 2012, presenting some of the most renowned and awarded documentary films of the year to be shown for the first time in Cyprus. Financial crisis, sustainable development and the constant fight of man for survival are only some of the topics of the 28 documentary films to be showcased this year. From New York to Bangladesh and from Amsterdam to the heart of Africa, the documentaries will lead the viewer in a journey bursting with unprecedented images and intense emotions. Ever since its first edition, the festival constitutes the main platform for showcasing contemporary, creative documentary in Cyprus.
Parallel to the main screenings at the main festival area, the second Municipal Market of Limassol (Theatro Ena), some repetitive screenings will also take place at Sousami, just a few metres away from the main festival space in the heart of the old city of Limassol.
As part of the parallel events of the festival, a documentary professional event entitled DocsTalk, will be organized on the 3rd and 4th August. DocsTalk 2012 aims at offering Cypriot directors, producers and cinema professionals the opportunity to expand and promote their skills in documentary making.
The festival will host directors and producers of films to be screened throughout the nine days, and the viewers will have the chance to initiate a creative dialogue with the filmmakers.
Entrance to the Festival and DocsTalk, Cyprus is free of charge.
Subtitles: All the films will be screened in their original dialogues with Greek and English subtitles.
