7th Mediterranean Folklore Dance Festival
The Cultural Heritage Association of Nicosia in cooperation with Larnaka Municipality is organizing the 7th Mediterranean Folklore Dance Festival which will take place on the 14th to 18th of September 2012 at Finikoudes sea front stage in Larnaka, at Geri Municipality and in Nicosia.
The 7th Mediterranean Folklore Dance Festival will start its journey on Friday 14th of September 2012, by the Opening of the Exhibition "The folk Costume of the Mediterranean", at the Municipal Historic Archives Museum of Larnaka, under the Cultural Services, at 4.00p.m. The mayor of Larnaka, the honorable Mr. Andreas Louroutziatis, will open the exhibition.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Saturday 15th of September 2011, at 9.00p.m. along Finikoudes sea front stage in Larnaka. A parade of all the groups will commence at 8.00p.m. along Athinon Street. The closing ceremony will take place at Finikoudes sea front stage in Larnaka, on Sunday 16th of September 2011, at 8.00p.m.
The Festival is also extended on 14th of September at Hereon square Geri organized by the Municipality of Geri and the Cultural Heritage Association of Nicosia and on 17th of September at Nicosia. At Geri, 14th of September a big parade of the folklore troupes will commence along the main streets at 7:00p.m. and Troupes Performances will follow at Herron Square at 8:30p.m. Nicosia, the 17th of September, a big parade of folklore troupes will take place at Ledras & Onasagorou st., at 7:00p.m. and Troupes Performance will follow at Pallouriotissa Square at 8:30p.m.
