9th International Pharos Chamber Music Festival
Since its inception in 2001, the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival has established itself as the highlight of the Pharos Arts Foundation's annual Concert and Recital Series and has gradually gained international recognition for the quality of its performances.
The 9th International Pharos Chamber Music Festival 2009 is certain to be a very special experience, with eighteen world-acclaimed musicians coming together in Cyprus for an intensive week of music-making.
Encompassing an astonishing array of instrumental combinations and repertoire, ranging from Haydn and Mozart to Schönberg and Schnittke, the Festival will comprise eight concerts that will be presented on 28, 29, 30, 31 May and 1, 2, 3, 4 June 2009.
In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death and the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth, the Festival will particularly draw attention to the great chamber output of the two composers.
All concerts will take place at the Gothic Hall of the Royal Manor House at Kouklia.
