A4* Action Against Trafficking
With the opportunity given by the International Womens Day, the event A4* Action Against Trafficking will take place at the ARTos Foundation, on Friday the 11th of March 2011 at 18:00.
This event consists of the following parts:
Positions and discussion

• Sophocles Fyttis, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights
• Antigoni Papadopoulou, Member of European Parliament
• Susana Pavlou, Director of Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies
• Giorgos Pavlides, Director of Radiostation ASTRA
• Androulla Christofidou, Cyprus Stop Trafficking
• Priest Savvas Michaelides, Private Initiative, Limassol.
The main speaker of this part is Zeleia Gregoriou, assistant professor at the University of Cyprus, who will answer the question “Why do we talk about trafficking and not violence against women?”. This is followed by an open discussion and a reception for all participants.

Theatre (www.beautyisprisontime.com)
The awarded theatre performance Beauty is Prison-Time, by praised Greek actress Zoe Mavroudi, will take place. The theatre performance is inspired by a real beauty pageant that takes place every year in a Siberian prison. It deals with burning issues of our time, such as trafficking and violence against women (language: English).

Throughout the duration of this event video-collages of FemLink with two-minute videos by 27 women artists around the world revolving around the subjects of “Aggression”, “Wonder” and “Vital” will be screened in a specially formed space.
Time: 18:00 – 21:30
The screenings will also take place on Tuesday, 15th of March 2011 at 19:30 at CUT (Cyprus University of Technology) in Limassol.
