Solidarity & Gender Equality Keys to Effective Strategies on Active Ageing.
Confernce, by the Soroptimist International Clubs of Cyprus on Saturday 29th September, dedicated to the European Year 2012 for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations. It aims to contribute to raising-awareness and promoting active ageing and solidarity between generations at a time when the EU grapples with a steadily ageing population and its impacts on public services and finances. Key objectives of the distinguished speakers (Ms Androula Vasileiou, the Nobel holder Professor Chris Pissarides, The president Soroptimist International Europe Ms Kathy Kaaf, Professor Ms Mary Koutselini, Professor Mr Asghar Zaidi, Professor Mr Constantinos Fellas) and round table discussion will be to:
• Raise general awareness of the value of active ageing and solidarity between generations;
• Stimulate a debate and develop mutual learning between Member States and stakeholders at all levels, including civil society organizations;
• Encourage and support policymakers and stakeholders to promote active ageing and solidarity between generations.
Important decisions are expected to be taken with a Global Vision and a Global Voice.
Simultaneous interpretation will be offered in three languages, Greek, English and French.
