The Age of Now
LOUVANA DISKOI presents "The Age of Now" by J.Kriste, Master of Disguise.
J. Kriste, Master of Disguise is the name under which the Cypriot composer, instrumentalist and performer, Lefteris Moumtzis releases his music. With this name he has published two albums: "This is the alternative" (Moon records 2005) and the critically acclaimed "Girls, Ghosts and Gods" (Puzzlemusik 2009).
During the last three years, he has successfully performed his music in Cyprus and Greece, as a three-piece, five-piece and ten-piece ensemble, in collaboration with significant Cypriot and foreign musicians. Having spent several years in the U.S. and Europe, Moumtzis, pushes on with his musical exploration amongst the cultures that he has experienced, both literally and musically. With an imaginative use of electric, electronic, traditional and orchestral instruments, and unique vocal performances, his compositions and arrangements have the ability to transport the listener to an out-of-time, dreamy experience that takes place in a world where borders and music genres fade.
The fall of 2012 sees the release of the new album "The Age of Now", a piece of work deeply connected with the present time and its utilization. In an age where nothing is certain, Moumtzis, seeks the things that really matter and recreates his own musical world, made from feelings of love toward the human being and its nature. This new work is attempting to contemplate on the inner fermentations of man against the complexity of today’s society. More specifically, the songs of the album deal with the dual aspect that is imposed on us through globalization, that is the sad reality of decentralization-alienation of people and societies from their fundamental cores of existence (place of birth etc) on one hand, and, on the other hand, the opportunities that globalization offers such as the productive interaction with other human beings and other societies.
On stage J. Kriste, Master of Disguise consists of a collective of talented musicians from Cyprus and Greece.
