The Aktarma of a Butterfly
The Aktarma of a Butterfly, is the title of the art performance, which is presented as one-off action at the exhibition opening "Anima - Animus".
“Αχταρμάς” (- aktarma) in Greek means a collection of miscellaneous things, a mixture, confusion..... In Turkish means: transmission, change. It’s all these together!
Setting on the base idea of "Anima -Animus", the performance is taking us in a journey full of dissimilar yet relative symbolic messages, devised in different units. A journey wading into subjects such as gender, sexuality, social exclusion, repressed desires and fears, inner or external hazards, the idea of Self and non-Self, reflections of ‘be’ or ‘not to be’ and …… «The deeper you go…the deeper you go…the deeper you go…deeper you go, you go…you?»* …………….
An asexual butterfly, that is born to die and die to reborn.... With the poetic interference from Avgi’s Lilli “Raugh Notes on a life vest” (in Greek language), in combination with audience’s notes as a form of an open interactive dialogue; an art aktarma with butoh dance, performance art and interactive elements, with audience participation.
