Soprano Aliki Chrysochou Bio:

Soprano Aliki Chrysochou was born in Limassol, Cyprus and was exposed to the presence of great minds from an early age. Having grown up in a family where the arts played a significant role, it was almost inevitable for her not to go down a similar path. Aliki showed great interest not only in the arts in general but particularly in music.

Growing up she was a member of the “Diastasi” choir where she performed as a main soloist for many years, in theatres both in Cyprus and all over Europe.

Aliki Chrysochou graduated from Sheffield University in the United Kingdom in 2005, with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in both piano and voice. She also holds a Pianoforte Certificate in Advanced Performance from London College of Music & Media at Thames Valley University, a Theory of Music Grade 8 from Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as an outstanding recognition in Classical Singing Diploma Grade 8 from Trinity Guildhall of London.

After completing her studies, Aliki moved to New York City where she studied Musical Theatre and Drama at HB Studio with a scholarship. In addition, Aliki followed further operatic studies with renowned teachers and coaches such as Steven M. Crawford, one of the conductors of the Metropolitan Opera. Aliki participated in two consecutive commercial record releases with one of the most important classical composers in the music history of Cyprus, Achilleas Lympourides and our national poet and one of the most important poets of the European Neo-classical Era, Kostas Montis.

The Greek Cypriot Soprano has performed in concerts as a soloist with various orchestras and choirs in countries around the world, including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Canary Islands, Greece, and the U.K. She has also performed many concerts with the National String Quartet in her homeland, Cyprus.
