The Amalgamation Project

The Amalgamation Project is a unique music initiative that serves as a platform for musicians from the traditional and jazz scene, brought together by a common desire to collaborate and co-create. The five-member band comprises some of the most accomplished and talented young musicians of Cyprus’music scene, each of whom adds his or her own artistic perspective to the musical amalgam that ensues from every new performance of the band. In their concert at the Axiothea Mansion, the Amalgamation Project will present a selection of songs with strong folk influences, covering a broad geographical region (Cyprus, Greece, the Balkans, the Mediterranean), which have been rearranged and mixed with jazz, improvisation and electronic music. The concert will also feature original compositions by Vassiliki Anastasiou, who was instrumental in the creation of this music platform.
