Anastasakis - Michaelides Live

Prozak is pleased to host for the second time the duet of Jannis Anastasakis (guitar, fx, loops) and Paul Michaelides (violin) in an improvisational musical collaboration.

The violin will "lend" its sound to the guitar, the fxs and loopers for live editing, live sampling and looping for an unexpected sound effect.

About the musicians:

Jannis Anastassakis is characterized by his particular approach to the guitar, as an original and atmospheric sound generator as well as delving into depth with analog - mostly - effects and synths (he is also the designer and manufacturer of JAM pedals).

His unique sound is an ambient and psychedelia alloy balancing between melody and noise, many times exceeding the "allowable" limits. He has collaborated among others with Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset, Haig Yazdjian, Theodore relay, Nick Sidirokastritis, Haris Lambrakis, Floros Florida, Savina Yannatou, D.Savvopoulos and is a founding member of the audio-visual project Elektronik Meditation.

Pavlos Michailides uses the violin as the canvas of his internal world and the bow as the brush to highlight every moment and detail he listens around him. Blending popular eastern and western classical music idioms along with world and contemporary music, he is "lending" his sound to Jiannis Anastasakis in order for them to improvisationally bridge the west with the east, the old with the modern.
