Ghosts of Summer - Andreas Kafkalias
"Ghosts of Summer" is a collection of highly contrasted, minimal photographs depicting people going into the sea during the Summertime. The photographer by using the high contrast effect achieves some kind of metamorphosis both to the bathers and the ships found into the sea. Consequently, the viewer experiences something entirely different from what in reality the camera captures. Typical children are now depicted as ghost-alike figures and merchant tankers as ghost ships.
