THE MORPHOPLASTIC DYNAMIC OF TEXTURE IN THE PAINTING OF ANGELIKI PAPAGEORGIOU
Paintings or anaglyphic surfaces? Light or darkness? Warm or cold? Chaos or order? It is with these antithetical relationships that we initially approach the work of Angeliki Papageorgiou.
The artist chooses visual elements to impart the experience of the image, with constructional axes invisible in the organization of the space and in the colour and linear composition. The basic element of light is the primary morphoplastic component extension and dynamic in the space, which causes fluctuations in the tensions, the significance of materiality and the texture correlations.
That is how the viewer detects the intentions of the undiscovered area, a whole world espied on by other means, not those of visible reality, but by means of a process of recognition of symbols and clear visual values.
On this adventure and in this world Angeliki Papageorgiou includes us in the transformation of chaos into a harmonic but worrying order of visual effect.
