Views of the World - Children's competition film programme I
The Countryside Animafest Cyprus — Views of the World, in collaboration with UNESCO’s International organisation for animation ASIFA and the Hambis Printmaking Museum announces the 16th Countryside Animafest Cyprus- Views of the world (24-30 June 2017).
The children’s competition film I program will take place at Technopolis 20 garden for a third time, on Sunday, 25th of June at 20:45 (duration 50 minutes). Α selection of Independent children animation productions from all over the world will be screened, ideal for families and children. The entrance will be free. The jury for the Children film competition are the Cypriot animators Andreas Procopiou, animator at Pixar studios, Katerina Pantela, animator at the Cartoon Saloon in Ireland and Andreas Rossides, a 3D freelance Artist.

The Festival presents a rich programme with the most important films of independent animation cinema from all over the world, films from the Cypriot and the International Competition Programme, exhibitions, workshops (masterclasses) by international animation celebrities and also tributes, concerts and screenings of children’s animation films. This year’s Festival focuses on Japan, and in cooperation with the European Capital of Culture – Pafos2017 Organisation and EU JAPAN FEST, present a great exhibition of contemporary Japanese Engraving at the Famagusta Gate in Nicosia (21/6), an exhibition of the traditional Ukiyo-e Japanese Engraving at the Hambis Printmaking Museum in Platanisteia (24/6), as well as a tribute to Japanese independent animation cinema and an exhibition with works by the most important representative of our days, of independent Japanese Animation, Koji Yamamura.
Additionally, a new collaboration will begin with the Animation Workshops of the University of Viborg in Denmark (VIA University College). This workshop aims to help towards developing knowledge about the process of researching, organizing and guiding creative animation workshops in both countries Cyprus and Denmark. The educational workshop and seminar for children will take place on Saturday – Monday, 24-26 June 2017, at the Almyra Hotel, Paphos, in collaboration with Creative Europe Desk Cyprus and Almyra Hotel.
The jury for the international and national competition are Koji Yamamura, Joni Mannisto and Jelena Popovic. The jury for the Children film competition are the Cypriot animators Andreas Procopiou, Katerina Pantela, and Andreas Rossides.
