Art with cheese & wine

The performance that "gave birth" to Alpha Square in a festive event with cheese & wine at the restaurant of the Leventis Gallery.

Yasmina Reza’s play ART (in a translation by Oscar winner Christopher Hampton) has been honoured with, among others, the Tony, Lawrence Olivier and Evening Standard Awards. In 2003 alpha square was launched in the Cyprus theatre scene with this English production, which had audiences sitting on the floor in the aisle of Theatro Ena Nicosia daily, since all performances were sold out.

Synopsis
Serge has bought an expensive and very modern painting. It is white with a white background. Marc cannot imagine what has possessed Serge for him to do such a ludicrous thing. The intense disagreement that breaks out between them dismays their neurotic friend Yvan, who desperately attempts to maintain some kind of order. The discussion between the three friends becomes more and more heated until it goes beyond the question of art to focus on nothing less than their own friendship.
