Art Through the Senses: Art got your Tongue
Art through the Senses with Alexandra Francis
This monthly programme provides interactive gallery experiences tailored specifically for you and your young child.
Spend the morning at the A. G. Leventis Gallery enjoying guided looking, singing, stories and creative activities. Our current theme, the five senses, will have you and your child smelling, touching, tasting, looking and listening your way through the Gallery.
Session 1: Art Got Your Tongue
Food and drinks seem to spill off the canvas during this sense of taste exploration. Using their imaginations, children and families will host a tea party inspired by the painting "Still Life" by Nikos Hadjikyriakos-Ghika. In the Gallery we will explore how our tongue works and sort items into different flavour categories. Then, we will move to Renoir’s Workshop to create our own original tea flavours, print with fruit and squeeze our own lemon and orange juice.
