Ayia Napa Youth Festival
The Ayia Napa Youth Festival is a festival organized by the youth for all Cyprus. It will include concerts, events and activities with a strong social message against violence in football stadiums and a charity purpose. The Ayia Napa Youth Council immediately after its creation has set up among other the goal of creating a youth festival in Ayia Napa. The idea was based on popular festivals abroad where except of the concerts they include a number of activities. We strongly believe that this festival will be established as an annual event and every year the last weekend of august all of Cyprus youth will be in Ayia Napa. The festival will take place in 27-28-29 august 2010. at the Ayia Napa harbour. The president of the Cyprus parliament and the president of the cyprus football association will honor us with their presence
The story: after many meetings and preparations we announced details of our festival in facebook. Within a few weeks our facebook group had approximately 2000 members. The response we received from Cyprus and Greece was a positive surprised. Our email was flooded with emails from persons offering to come with their bands and perform , requesting information, or to help with the organisation of the activities we will include to the festival such as skateboard, supercross, chess, arts and graffiti, rc racing and many more)
The festival will have a very good concert lineup closing each night with LOCOMONO, MPLE and STAVENTO feat IVI ADAMOU additionally Lexicon Project will be present. All the bands were chosen through an online voting -therefore by you. At the same time 30 local Cyprus and Greek bands will also perform. The interest is so high that we are also considering adding a 4th day to the festival. The bands which will perform before the greek popular bands representing a wide range of music styles (metal-rock – hiphop-pop- folk etc) are the following

The festival goal however is not just the entertainment part – but it will have a strong social and charity purpose. The festival will promote our rejection of violence to the football stadiums a social issue which our society not fund effective ways to solve. The message will be promoted with the help of the Cyprus Football Association. With regards to charity a special kiosk will be setup in order ro receive donations which will be given to two children which face significant health issues and need financial support – we are confident that we will be able to collect a significant amount for them
