Paphos Kidney Association and Paphos Music Lovers presents the concert “Meeting Bach” in the context of the Bach Birthday Festival, at Technopolis 20, on Sunday, 25th of March, at 6pm, where all proceeds will go to the Paphos Kidney Association fund for a new Renal Ward.

Musicians performing are Natalia Lezedova, Tatiana Stupak, Nina Ioannidou (piano), Robert Grod (cello), Maria Avraam (flute), Andreas Constantinou (violin) and Hristo Ovcharov (double bass).

A few words about the musicians:

Hristo Ovcharov (double bass) began his musical education at the age of six by participating in a boys’ choir in his birth town of Dupnitsa, Bulgaria. At the age of seven his family had to move to the capital of the country - Sofia where he got accepted into the Children's National Radio Choir. Hristo started attending piano, theory and double bass lessons. He graduated the double bass performer classes of The National Music School (2007) and the National Music Academy (2011), in Sofia, after which he left the country to acquire a Master's degree in musical performance from the State School of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, Germany (2014). Hristo was soon after invited for the position of P. Iuga's assistant in the Cyprus Young String Soloists' double bass class. He holds prizes from several solo and chamber music competitions in Bulgaria, Serbia, FYROM. The double bass performer has given concerts on three of the continents so far as a soloist and as a part of different formations. Hristo is currently undergoing his PhD studies in historic music from a performer’s perspective.

Andreas Constantinou (violin): Andreas Constantinou was born in Limassol. He studied violin at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow. He worked in Limassol for many years as a violin teacher. He is a founder member of the Cyprus State Orchestra. Andreas Constantinou was the lead violinist of the orchestra for 15 years. Now Andreas Constantinou is working as a vice manager in secondary schools in Limassol. Andreas performs as a violinist- soloist and in chamber ensembles. Repeatedly invited to competitions and festivals as the chairman of the jury in Cyprus and Serbia, conducted master classes.

Natalia Lezedova (piano) is a graduate of the Musical Faculty of the State Pedagogical University of Russia, and she also has postgraduate studies in "Musical Art" (2012). She attended an advanced training course from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (2013). She is also a laureate of five international competitions, among them: two first prizes as a performer-soloist (Saint-Petersburg and Moscow 2012), winner of the Grand-Prix music festival competition “Severnaya Venetsia” (2012) and first prize laureate as a concertmaster (Music Competition in Performing Arts in St. Petersburg, 2013). In recent years she has arranged many concerts in Cyprus, most of them for charity, and she has collaborated with musicians from Russia, Cyprus, Italy, French, Germany and UK.

Robert Grod (cello) was born in 1991 in Lithuania, studied in Vilnius Balys Dvarionas music school (class of J.Veiverienė). He is laureate prize winner of national competitions (B.Dvarionas, J.Urba). Since 2010 Robert has been studying at Moscow State Conservatory (class of Prof. N.Shakhovskaya). In 2012 he won the 1st prize at Kozolupov competition in Moscow. In 2016 he graduated the conservatory with honoirs. Since then he lives Cyprus and works in a special programme for childrens in CYSS.

Maria Avraam (flute) is a flautist and pianist. She graduated from the Marios Tokas Music School and she holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the European University Cyprus. She has performed as a flautist with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Prague among others. Maria has also participated as a flautist and pianist in various music festivals such as the Artos Contemporary Music Festival, the Avaton Contemporary Music Festival, the 7th International Festival of Contemporary Music, the Flevares Project, the Tampere Biennale Festival in Finland etc. She also performed in a concert series with the CoMA London contemporary ensemble in UK and as a pianist of the CYSO Ensemble in collaboration with the Centre of Cypriot composers, giving world and Cyprus Premiers.

Tatiana Stupak (piano) started learning the piano at age five, and later studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg. She won a Bach international competition and an organ international competition in Russia. She has performed in Austria and Germany as well as in Russia. Tatiana is now based in Cyprus, where she is well known, having played many times in the last few years, in Limassol, Paphos and Nicosia, both as a solo pianist and accompanying other musicians. She also teaches piano, having this year opened her music school at The Russian House in Limassol; she has arrangements for teaching singing with other professional musicians, and for the teaching of other instruments by international prize-winning musicians.

Nina Ioannidou (piano) was born in Russia. She graduated from Musical University of Stavroupoli in Russia and from the Musical Faculty of the University of Greece. In 2003 - 2004 she took part in the competitions in Athens and won first and second prizes. She has taught and accompanied in Greece and for the last eight years has taught in music schools in Paphos and Limassol.
