BODYTALK by Andy Rashleigh, is a high-energy multimedia production by a group of children aged 9-11yrs.
Combining film with live theatre and dance, the play explores what happens inside the bodies of two children, a boy and a girl, with the young actors playing the body parts, such as ‘Brain’, ‘Mouth’ and ‘Memory’, and the video screen displaying what the two children can see in the outside world. As the two kids clash with the typical pre-teen boy/girl conflict and react through playing nasty tricks on each other, the characters in both heads fight for the hierarchy of the ‘brain’, who rules the roost, bringing the vital essence of teamwork into play. With the boy’s ‘memory’ forgetting everything right before a geography test, and the introduction of a ‘germ’, the boy’s ‘brain’ must leap into the girl’s head (sneezing is the best way to travel) to save the day!
An absurd, hilarious dose of biology!
It is one of three Theatre Antidote productions that have been supported by a grant from Iceland Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism this year.
