Choral Crossroads 2013
Following the success of the first Euro-Mediterranean Youth Choral Festival, Cultural Movement of Limassol “Epilogi” in collaboration with the European Choral Association – Europa Cantat, organizes the second meeting of youth choirs “Choral Crossroads 2013 – Singing the Bridges”. The festival will be held between 27 and 30 September in Limassol. With over 200 participants and Ellerhein Girls Choir (Estonia), Aurin Girls Choir (Hungary), Cairo Conservatory Choir and Zajel Choir (Egypt), Saint Rafqa Choir (Lebanon) and Epilogi Youth Choir (Cyprus), the festival aims to explore choral music a speace building tool and Euro-Mediterranean collaboration.
The first concert will take place at Rialto Theatre (27 SEP, 20:30), the second one at Molos of Limassol (28 SEP, 19:30) and the last one at Kourion Ancient Amphitheatre on 29 SEP on 20:30 that will be launched by the Head of European Commission Representation in Cyprus, Mr. Georgios Markopouliotis.
As part of the festival, the attendees will have the opportunity to attend an exciting and comprehensive line up of workshops, lectures and artistic activities. In parallel with concerts and workshops there will be organized Mediterranean Choral Forum with international experts in choral music taking a part. It will be held in “Pefkios Georgiades” hall of Cyprus University of Technology on 28 September from 9:30 am.
The activity is a part of VOICE project funded by EU “Culture” Programme and co-funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus.
