Christina Papakyriakou
"Live painting action" is the name of the personal project of the artist Christina Papakyriakou which deals with the interaction between painting and movement. Through a projector, the artist makes a painting performance on large surfaces. The artist also focuses her work on the relationship created by the movement of the live human presence.
Christina Papakyriakou 1.8.1978. Limassol. Studied Painting at the School of Fine and Applied Arts, Aristotelion University (Salonica, Greece), with Vangelis Dimitreas and Savvas Costantinides, at which time she received her first commendation. Participated in various group exhibitions, most importantly at the Biennale of Young Artists in Crete, representing her Cypriot colleagues at their workshop. This participation was also marked by the first sale of one of her works. Initially studied with well-known instruc tors at the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Athens, a period she fondly remembers, especially for her instruction by Professor Demetrios Mytaras. After the successful conclusion of her studies and following a brief stay in Berlin, she returned to Cyprus, where she established her own atelie, in Limassol.
