Christmas & Porcelain at the Centre of Contemporary Art Diatopos just for one afternoon! Enjoy Christmas with elegant pieces of real porcelain created by the swiss artist Ruth Ella Neidhart. Join us for a glass of wine and invest in unique and valuable art works on Monday 21 of December from 5 pm.
Ruth Ella Neidhart was born in Basel, Switzerland. She passed through the applied Art School in Basel and graduated with a diploma as a display Artist. She had also worked with a number of famous art teachers such as Times of Tinguely at her school. Afterwards she went to England and studied at the Polytechnic in Leeds and took art lessons in pottery with Dennis Farell for nine months. She later went back to Switzerland and started taking lessons in porcelain painting, mainly in classical painting (e.g. Meissen and Nyon) and doll making lessons in several studios. She worked in Switzerland for a couple of years at Globus St Gallen and Zurich as a display artist and stylist. She also worked at Mpdelia in both Zurich and St Moritz. In 1988 she opened up her studio in Switzerland where she started teaching doll making and porcelain painting. A few years later she moved to Paphos, Cyprus and started to experiment with new materials on porcelain and began her own collection of jewellery made in porcelain.
Ruth has been greatly influenced by Art Noveau in recent years and this is shown mostly in her latest pieces. Ruth Ella Neidhard has received the following international awards: Certified Artist, Certified teacher and Certified D.A.G. master of Doll making from the International doll Artisan Guild , Oneonta, New York, U.S.A.
