Clarinet and Cello Recital (FlevaRes Project)
The FlevaRes Project, a combined effort by Cypriot artists supported by the Vasilias Nikoklis Inn, nourishes art and music lovers for the second time this year.
On the 6th of November, the musicians George Georgiou – a clarinettist who is building a rich repertoire with emphasis on contemporary music and who has collaborated repetitively with living Cypriot composers -, and Doros Zesimos - a cellist who has performed in many concerts in Cyprus and abroad -, will present an unusual, but challenging and dynamic programme that includes music of some of the most important 20th century and contemporary creators. These are: Kaija Saariaho, one of the most imaginative contemporary Finnish and one of the most eminent post-spectral composers; Luciano Berio, one of the most multidimensional and experimental Italian composers of the 20th century, Petar Christoskov, a composer who is lesser-known in the wider public, but who has contributed greatly to the repertoire for string instruments as well as to the musical education of his native Bulgaria; and Iannis Xenakis, one of the most influential and avant-garde composers and architects of the 20th century.
