Clarinet and Guitar Recital
We are delighted to announce our upcoming event featuring George Georgiou (clarinet) and Zoe Paisanou (guitar) in a Clarinet and Guitar Recital.
The concerts will take place:
Monday, 30 April 2012, 20:30: Palia Ilektriki (Old Powerhouse), Pafos
Thursday, 3 May 2012, 20:30: Kasteliotissa Hall, Nicosia
Saturday, 5 May 2012, 20:30: Palio Ksydadiko, Limassol
The concerts are organised by the ‘Cyprus Clarinet Studio’ and are coordinated by DueCapi.
The ‘Cyprus Clarinet Studio’ aims to promote the clarinet in Cyprus through workshops, seminars, concet etc. So far, it worked with many musicians from Cyprus and abroad such as Erik Mandat (USA), Kinan Asmeh (Syria), Gabor Varga (Hungary), Cristo Barrios (Spain) and Julian Farrell (UK). The highlight of CCS activities is the international clarinet festival that takes place every two years in Cyprus.
George Georgiou was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, where he began his first clarinet lessons. He moved to London where he studied at City University (Bmus and MA in music performance studies) under the supervision of Professor Rhian Samuel. He studied clarinet with Julian Farrell and Joy Farral at GSMD. As soloist he appeared with CUSO and Moscow Vistuosi and he performed many recitals at Cyprus, UK, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Greece and USA.
Zoe Paisanou was born in Limassol (Cyprus) were she received her first lessons at the age of 13. She holds the F.T.C.L from Τrinity College London and the highest diploma from Hellenic Conservatory. She attended master classes by distinguished guitarist such as Hubert Kappel, Jesus Ortega, Wolfgang Lendle, Costas Cotsiolis and Michel Sadanowsky. She is a prize winner at the Volos International Guitar Festival (Greece). She performed concert in several countries among others Cyprus, Poland, Austria, France and Russia. She was a member of Trio de Guitares de Paris.

Astor Piazzolla (1921 - 1992): History of Tango
