A few words about the musicians

Amiche String Quartet
The members of the Amiche string quartet have met on the island of Cyprus, where having put aside their cultural, religious and political differences they have formed a close friendship, and found their common language through the music that they perform.

The group had its debut over seven years ago at the Pancyprian Festival of Modern Composers. All four ladies are versatile musicians who for years have actively participated in the cultural life of Cyprus taking part in nearly all major music events, either giving solo concerts or performing in chamber ensembles. They are also members of the Cyprus Symphonic Orchestra.

As a group, they have successfully performed all over Cyprus as well as abroad. Apart from modern music their repertoire includes pieces from other periods, such as the baroque, romantic and classical. The name of the group comes from the Italian word meaning ‘friends’ and this is what they would like to be known as.
