Constantinople (Nicosia)
A band based in Montreal inspired by the music traditions of the Mediterranean and the Middle-East. They have collaborated with a large number of virtuoso musicians from all over the world recording albums and performing live at famous festivals.
From Castille to Samarkand is a music journey based on the travel book of the Spanish ambassador Clavijo, who set off from the Spanish port of Cadix in 1403 and travelled through Italy, Greece, Turkey, Persia and Uzbekistan in Central Asia in order to meet King Tamerlan. The group conveys through music the amazing facts, people and places encountered on this trip, combining authentic local sounds with original compositions inspired by these regions.
