Cyprus the next day: Cypriot youth discuss
Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle , Greek-Cypriot newspaper Politis and Turkish-Cypriot newspaper Yeniduzen bring together two greek- Cypriot and two Turkish-cypriot teenagers ages 16-18 in a debate about the future of Cyprus.
It is an opportunity for Cypriot youth to express their thoughts and opinions on the current situation in Cyprus and how they see their country's future course in relation to the Cyprus problem, with or without a solution. It is also an opportunity for the public to hear the views of a part of society that is usually left out of any political discussions on the subject.
The event will take place on Friday December 7th 2018 on the ground floor hall of the Politis Newspaper building in Old Nicosia. It will begin at 5pm with an opening speech by a representative of Deutsche Welle. The moderator, a journalist from Politis newspaper will then initiate the debate by posing a question to each one of the four participants. In the course of the debate the audience will also be invited to participate.
The discussion will be followed by live music with “The Handmade Band” and JohnPicpas&UncleMete on the decks, with beer from the “Drink for Peace” initiative.
The debate will be in English
