"Cyprus Trio" concert at ARTE
We are delighted to announce that ‘The Cyprus Trio’, Cyprus’ most prestigious ensemble, will be performing at the Archontiko Technon (ARTE) on Monday, 10th October 2011 at 20:00. The concert is organised by the ‘Friends of ARTE Society’ and it is coordinated by DueCapi.
The ‘Friends of ARTE Society’ is a non profit cultural organisation that promotes several events in order to give a new prospective into the cultural scene of Cyprus. The society gives opportunities to several young artists (painters, musicians, actors etc) to present their work and also combines together different genres bringing together all different forms of Art. So far, it has hosted some very important personalities such as the pianist Martino Tirimo and the poet Thomas Transtromer.
Formed in 2010, ‘The Cyprus Trio’ has already established itself as one of the finest chamber ensembles of Cyprus. Their lyrical playing, character and musicality are only some of the trio’s unique characteristic. Their repertoire consists of many master pieces for this combination but also it involves many contemporary pieces especially by Cypriot composers. It has already collaborated with some of Cyprus’ most important cultural organisations, such as the ‘Pharos Trust’, and it performed around Cyprus and Greece. The trio consists of the violinist and concert master of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Wolfgang Schroeder, the cellist and principal of the cello section of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra Peter Gospodinov and the pianist Naoko Kariya.
The programme for this concert will be:
J. Haydn: Piano Trio in C Hoboken XV:21
A. Ioannides: Piano Trio
F. Schubert: Piano Trio Nr.1 in B-flat op.99
Admission for the concert is €12 and €10 for concessions. For reservations of further information please contact George Georgiou 70009595 or via e-mail on [email protected] or [email protected].
