Charity Avant Premier of the movie Danny Collins

We are delighted to inform you that of the first charity event organized by the Cyprus Association of Friends of Shriners Hospital of Springfield U.S.A. The unique screening in Cyprus of the movie Danny Collins on the 31st of March, 2015 at 20.00 at K-Cineplex in Engomi.

The event is under the auspices of the honorable Minister of Health Dr. Philippos Patsalis.

A classical comedy by Dan Folkerman : Inspired by a true story, Al Pacino stars as aging 1970s rocker Danny Collins, who can't give up his hard-living ways. But when his manager (Christopher Plummer) uncovers a 40 year-old undelivered letter written to him by John Lennon, he decides to change course and embarks on a heartfelt journey to rediscover his family, find true love and begin a second act.

Cyprus Association of Friends of Shriners Hospital of Springfield U.S.A.
The Cyprus Association of Friends of Shriners Hospital in Springfield U.S.A. aims to support Shriners Hospital of Springfield, as a means of expressing it’s gratitude for their immense contribution to the well-being of children in Cyprus.

Over 3000 children from Cyprus with serious orthopedic problems have received free surgery in the U.S.A. during the last 30 years, as a result of the collaboration between Shriners Hospital in Springfield & George and Thelma Paraskevaides Foundation. Moreover every year a team of Doctors from Shriners Hospital visits Cyprus and examines over 350 children, free of charge. In addition to this, every year at least 50-80 children are examined via telemedicine. Lastly, there are over 22 Shriner Hospitals in the U.S.A. with the purpose to provide the best medical-care for children in their specialty areas, regardless of families’ financial conditions.
