Day Dreaming by Ioannis Macheriotis
Opus 39 Gallery presents ‘Day Dreaming’ by Ioannis Macheriotis.
Exhibition opening Monday 16 April 2018 at 8.00p.m.
In his 5th solo exhibition Ioannis portrays a state of ‘Day Dreaming’ in various forms on his paintings that consist of portraits and figures standing before a dreamy background or a muted one. His works are inspired by the techniques of the Old Masters in apparent and classic realism and the technique together with the soft colours that he employs on the canvas clearly show this ‘Day Dreaming’ state on his characters.
The use of the term ‘Day Dreaming’ is to show how it affects individuals in their psyche to relive memories, remember romantic or unpleasant moments or make plans for the future. Serious decisions and great ideas can emerge from this state of mind and can produce wonders.
