"Days We Have Seen" by Peter Moore
Book Presentation and Exhibition Opening
A personal account of an Englishman and his family's experiences in war-torn Cyprus during 1974 and 1975
Exhibition of photographs from the book and a selection of Moore's latest ceramic work
The Cultural Centre "Technopolis 20" invites you to a presentation of the book "Days we have seen" by Peter Moore, on Friday, 23rd of January 2015, at 7:30 pm. Moore will be introduced by the professional photographer and founder of the "6x6 Centre for Photography", Vassos Stylianou.
On the same night Moore's personal exhibition of photographs from Kolossi Refugee Camp and ceramic work will be opened.
In 1972, having recently fulfilled his dream of qualifying as a teacher of art, Peter moved to Cyprus. He spent the remainder of his working life, in Cyprus and England, as an educator and practicing artist, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Ceramics from Goldsmiths College London and an MA in Artistic Practice from the University of East Anglia.
Since retiring and returning to Cyprus he has divided his time between his writing and artwork. His book, 'Days we have seen', is based on the adventures experienced by himself and his family during the Cyprus conflict of 1974 and its aftermath. His ceramic work reflects his deep love of the land and history of Cyprus.
The exhibition will be open from Friday 23rd until Friday, 30th of January 2015.
The introduction will be in Greek and the talk in English.
