Life in Lapithos: decoding the drawings of Christopher Connell
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lapithos, delve into life in Lapithos by way of decoding the drawings of Christopher Connell.
Connell’s collection numbers 26 drawings. An exceptionally important collection, it was donated to the Foundation in 1991. The artist presents the works he created during his stay on the island, a few years before the Turkish invasion (1968-1971). The drawings depict people in scenes from everyday life in occupied Lapithos. Fascinating stories and information from the artist’s own point of view will be presented during the lecture.
