Definite Events by Aldo Kroese
In his work, Dutch artist Aldo Kroese, is looking for answers to questions like: how to visualize the transition between two stages or a movement from A to B? In other words; he shows a process. Movement and time are important factors in these questions. In earlier works, he researched the moment between mortion and stand-still. In the end he found out that this moment does not exist, but the process turned out to be visualy facinating.
Elements like TIME and MOTION are not just sources of inspiration, but a direct reason to make a work. Sunlight for example, is in a constant motion. By using this element his my work, he visualizes the movement of the earth; a motion that is almost too slow to notice, becomes visible. Another example is the process of growing. By documenting different moments in time, the process becomes visible.
