Doha comes to Nicosia for Qatar National Day
To mark the celebration of Qatar’s National Day on December 18th*, the people of Cyprus are invited to the grounds of the International State Fair in Nicosia, where for the 18th until the 20th of December, they will have the opportunity to visit a pavilion that is being transformed into the capital of rich heritage, Doha and will be introduced to the generous Qatari nation.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the rich culture of Qatar, taste local delicacies and enjoy traditional music and dance. The public will also have the opportunity to admire up close the popular traditional Henna procedure, which characterizes detail, rich colour and designs, while there will be a gallery of photographs and portraits by Qatar artists, themed around the inherited abundant culture
Qatar’s capital, Doha, has been marked as the megalopolis of the future, and is growing into a cultural and tourist focal point. Nevertheless, while the city is growing ever more modern, Qatar is keen to see that it sacrifices none of its “body” or “soul”, as visitors to this two day event will see for themselves. The event will be open on Friday 18 December from 13:00 – 22:00, and on the weekend 19 and 20 of December from 10:00 – 22:00. (Pavilion no.7). Admission to the public is free.
A number of official guests from Qatar will arrive in Cyprus and will attend a reception that will be given in their honour by the Ambassador of Qatar, H.E. Mr Mubarak A AL Naseer, just before noon on the 18th December. Representatives of the Cyprus government will also be attending, along with prominent members of the business community.
