Doros Dimosthenous
Doros Dimosthenous sings in both Greek and English however for the 7 Seas he will be delivering us an amazing show in English.
Doros Dimosthenous was born in Limassol, Cyprus. He had theoretical music studies and is a graduate of the Monody Lecture of the National conservatoire of Athens. His professor was Lella Stamos. He won the Vyronas Kolasis Prize and was given a blue ribbon of outstanding attainment. He started his career as a solist in the "Diastasi" vocal team based in Limassol.
In 1994, he sang at the Herod Atticus Theatre, in the "Cyprus-20 Years Later'show that Mihalis Kakogiannis produced.
In 1995, he rendered Manos Hadjidakis' "Songs of the sin" at the Dimitris Papaioannou's "A Moment of Silence"show. He has also rendered Percell's "Dido and Aeneas" opera at the Athens Lyric Theatre. He has collaborated with the Orchestra of Colours on Beatles' songs and on ballads. He has performed on the stage of the Kremlin Theatre and has sung in two great theatres of London: in Her Majesty's Theatre and in Theatre Drury Lane, supporting Nana Mouskouri.
During the summer of 1997, he collaborated with Karolos Koun's Art Theatre, rendering Manos Hadjidakis' songs in Aristophanes' "The Birds"theatrical play.
In 1998-1999, he stared in the musical Grease that was put on Vembo Theatre in Athens.
His collaborations include: -The Ossipov Orchestra of Russia, on Mikis Theodorakis' songs -Lena Platonos, singing songs from her "Sabotaz" album at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron) -Savina Yannatou at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall -The Manos Hadjidakis Music Group on the "Era of Mellisanthi" play, at the Athens Concert Hall -Elli Papala, on "Magnus Eroticus"songs
During 2001-2003 he followed Maria Farantouri at her concerts all around the world.
In July 2003, he presented the Manos Hadjidakis's "Amorgos" music project (with Maria Farantouri) at the Herod Atticus Theatre. It was a world's first. The "Amorgos" album was released in December 2005.
In summer 2004, he played in the international production "The Birds"(by Aristophane), with music by Manos Hadjidakis and directed by Claude Crespen.
During the winters of 2005-2006-2007, he was singing with Loukianos Kilaidonis at the Music Bar of the Metaxourgeio Theatre.
In summer 2006, he took part in the Kilaidonis' Tour with the Greek Music National Orchestra (KOEM).
Furthermore, he has participated in concerts of various artists, such as: Nikos Kypourgos, Dimitris Lagios, Hristos Leontis, Mihalis Grigoriou, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Mihalis Christodoulides, Christos Pittas, Nikos Platanos, Evagoras Karagiorgis etc.
As far as discography is considered, he has participated in Dimitris Lagio' "Inati", in Mihalis Christodoulides' "Ton Athanaton" and "Kardia mou Pethymoda" , in Nikos Kypourgos' "Garden Secrets"and "Garden Theatre"and in George Hatzipieris' "O Tempelis Drakos".
