Installations by Doros Iracleous

This artist’s style is distinguished mainly through the material that he uses for his sculpture-like creations. He moulds the shiny aluminium metal into small and delicate shapes to create small “windows”, thus rendering a view into a world of symbolic patterns and interior-design elements. These “windows” are then fitted into a unifying frame, which presents a beautiful result that could be seen as a beautifully illustrated book with many chapters.

Doros Iracleous has mastered a unique style which drifts away from the main stream art. He has strived to find his own personal form of expression has succeeded in doing so. Every one of his creations tells a different story inspired either from the everyday life, his personal memories or imagination.

Some pieces of the series that ‘Silks Gallery’ will be presenting are not wall pieces, but rather a continuation of works that have escaped away from the framed restrictions and found their new free-standing freedom. Doros’ works have a fine way of combining in them art, sculpture and interior design with each individual element reinforcing the other.

The exhibition will be opened on the 20th June 2008 at 20:00 with an after party taking place next door at ‘Brio Cafe’ from 22:30 till late.
