Doves
Cyprus Society for Education through Arts* is organising a visual arts installation and workshop to promote peace and inter-communal collaboration. The installation will have the form of a large dove which will be constituted by hundreds of Origami paper doves made by Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots adults and children.
The aim of the installation is to express in a plain manner the desire of all Cypriots for the prevalence of peace on our island and in the world in general. Doves are being used as a symbol of peace, which are made of paper, a disposable and temporary material, such as peace, which is fragile and needs care and struggle to maintain.
We invite children and adults to create with us and place their own doves on the location, symbolically indicating the diachronic need of the people of the island for peace.
The event is supported by the Home for Cooperation and the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research.
