Dystopia: il Paradiso
In the theatrical monologue, Dystopia: il Paradiso, the story of a diagnosis is dramatized, inviting the audience on a journey into the multifarious forest of human psyche. What happens when a person with chronic neurological disease undertakes the role of the actor? The performer of the monologue is the very carrier of the “dystopia”, a dystopia internalized and interpreted based on mental disorder and its formation into physical disability. The foreground projected in the background is, in fact, the place of the unconscious, which the associative monologue depicts. Are we all living in an artificial paradise, and our supposed “eutopia” is only a dystopia of multiple disabilities?
