01 . 07 . 2017/9am - 1pm: Day of Ceramic Creation at the Pierides Museum
The Cyprus Pottery and Ceramics Association organises a Day of Ceramic Creation in the gardens of Pieridis Museum - the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, where ceramicists will demonstrate the art of clay to the public, while helping them create their own vase.
The invitation is open to the public. For entries please contact 24145375.
The Cyprus Pottery and Ceramics Association in collaboration with Larnaca Municipality organise a collective ceramic art exhibition, building upon a long tradition of cooperation.
Clay derives directly from the earth and is therefore inherently associated with our dependence on the land; it evokes a pre-industrial romantic past that to many is out of sync with the realities of the modern world. However, its connection to humans is perpetual, primitive. Α team of twenty-eight artists, with a shared understood narrative about the local and international history of ceramics, harmonise the old with the new and become signifiers of a community’s collective identity, as they portray the face of ceramics in Cyprus today.
Co-organisers: Larnaca Municipality and the Cyprus Pottery and Ceramics Association
