Eleni Vol.V
A devised theatre performance created by SRSLYyours, that invites the negotiation over issues of identity and social functions.
A suitcase full of wigs and colourful high heeled shoes leads the actor on an adventure, as he reflects upon the myth of Helen of Troy. The piece invites the negotiation of issues of identity as the performer navigates through imposed social roles we all play, tightly bounded by our gender, social rank, appearance, family history, ethnicity or even fate. The play is the monologue of a stage-traveler on his bitter-sweet path, who is looking for a true representation of himself, as an actor looking for a role to hide into. A performance devoted to the individuals who are fated to see their distorted and disregarded reflection in every mirror.
