Presentation of Eleni Xenou's first book
Eleni Xenou, journalist and culture editor, presents her first book titled "PS. I was born during an April" («Υγ. Γεννήθηκα έναν Απρίλη») at Phytorio, Saturday 31 March 2012 at 12.00. The book will be presented by Greek author Christos Chomenidis.
The book is a compilation of short stories in which the author describes her personal journey, without the intention of recording and presenting an autobiographical narrative, but rather a path that emanates from man's need to discover oneself and the world. The stories, which sometimes bare a self-sarcastic tone and other times make use of symbolic connotations, describe the author's (significant and insignificant) expeditions to countries, as well as people. The journey culminates with a lengthy tour in Asia, where upon return Xenou decides to recount everything she experienced in order to -as she writes- remind oneself that O2 means oxygen.
The texts were first published in Phileleftheros' "Ysterografo", 2006-2010.
The book cover and illustrations in the book were made by Polys Peslikas.
Eleni Xenou is a journalist. She acted as editorial director for "Ysterografo". She currently contributes to the Sunday culture section of Phileleftheros newspaper, and is a columnist for Go and Omikron magazines of the same publishing house, as well as on www.doctv.gr.
After the presentation, the book will be available in bookstores.
