Ero Farmaka - Water stories

Cyprus : Ero Farmaka - Water stories

Ero Farmaka presents her sixth solo exhibition of paintings with titled:
"Water stories" at Gallery Kypriaki Gonia in Larnaca from 17 April to 10 May 2013.

Water Stories, seabed stories, stories of the sea and the ocean Stories of rain and rivers, stories of liquids and tears. An invitation to a watery world bright, dark, turbulent, motionless, real and metaphysical.

I woke up in(side) the sky, eyes sad and a sun shining in the deep. Whispering silently sacred sounds to break the secrets of their vast silence. Primordial tenderness flooded my soul in the secret, transparent and beneficial silence of creation.

The invitation to witness a “watery” pursuing of a personal language, for the creation of a poetical representation of nature. A visual reality that transforms into a poetic new colour space. Nature analysed in colour, light, shadows and shapes moving between abstraction and symbolism. "Coloured light or bright colours," which stem from the soul, as well as external stimuli. Degradation of the form, colour and shape through the aesthetic sense of the blinding sunlight refractions. Yellow hues and iridescences move silently in grey-black skies and the deep blue sea.

"Water Stories" is a visual narration and a “sensuous conversation” through reality and all those that exist even beyond it. Abstract images, fairy, expressionistic and symbolic, which work with a combination of complex conceptual levels. Forgotten images that reflect the lost innocence of mankind. An aqua world that becomes the means to interpret thoughts, mental states, emotional conflicts, movement or stillness, melancholy and sadness. Remembrance, imagination, nostalgia, light, darkness, tears, human absence and loss.
Creating with painting terms a universe of relations that aim to investigate the possibility to illustrate the perpetual ambiguity between movement and eternity.
