Erotokritos
On Wednesday 11 May at 8pm, Morfi Gallery in Limassol presents an art exhibition of Yiorgos Erotokritos. The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Chairman of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Thanasis Tsokos.
Yiorgos Erotokritos was born in 1948 in Lambousa, near Kyrenia. He studied in Athens and London. When he finished his education, he returned to Athens to work and at the same time to study restoration and wood carving.
During the course of his artistic career, the well known FABERGE Jewelleery has selected Erotokritos to design a collection of FABERGE eggs. For this, Erotokritos used symbols from his own creative production, such as the Angel and the Mermaid.
Erotokritos participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Cyprus and overseas. Since 1980, he lived in Limassol until his sudden death in 2013.
The exhibition will remain open until 30 May.
