The Essence of the Inseparable
The Illusion of Separateness is an artistic movement initiated by Theatro Transcendental, with the aim of freeing us from the illusion that we are separate.
Humanity suffers from the illusion that we exist as separate entities, and that family, nationality, race etc. exist as labels that certify and organise this division. These illusions essentially serve to inspire irresponsibility, by deceiving us into believing that the only way to gain anything, is to look out for our own interests.
The theory of unity amongst us all is (in different forms) based on many of man‟s greatest leaders, among them: Carl Sagan, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Mahatma Gandhi, Nikos Kazantzakis, as well as many Eastern teachings.
What could happen if we were to take these theories and express them through theatre, music, photography and other art forms?
There are currently two projects running: The Essence of Inseparable (by the Transcendental Workshops team) and “Love Lies” by Korina Kontaxaki.
The Essence of the Inseparable (with extracts from N. Kazanzakis’ “Askitiki”) - By the Transcendental Theatre Workshop team
An improvisational physical theatre piece which explores the theory of "The Illusion of Separateness", enriched by extracts from Nikos Kazantzakis‟ “Askitiki”.
